French Industrial Production Rebounds In January

French industrial production grew 1.6% on a monthly comparison in January, following a revised 0.2% fall in December, the statistical office INSEE reported Wednesday. Economists had expected only 0.1% increase.

Manufacturing output was up 0.8% in January from the previous month, much larger than the consensus forecast of 0.2%. In December, output had dropped by a revised 0.9%.
